We are seeking a Psychiatrist to serve as Medical Director for a growing behavioral health organization providing treatment for individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for overseeing psychiatric services, driving clinical quality, and shaping the medical direction of multiple programs.
The Medical Director will support operations across several treatment locations within close geographic proximity, ensuring consistency of care and clinical excellence without extensive travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and medication management for patients
- Serve as the clinical leader for psychiatric services across multiple program locations
- Oversee and guide PMHNPs and other psychiatric providers, ensuring high standards of care
- Develop and implement clinical protocols, policies, and best practices
- Collaborate with executive and clinical leadership on program development and growth initiatives
- Participate in treatment planning, case reviews, and multidisciplinary team meetings
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards
- Support quality improvement initiatives and clinical outcomes tracking
- Provide consultation on complex or high-acuity cases
- Contribute to a culture of clinical excellence, accountability, and patient-centered care
Qualifications
- MD or DO with Board Certification in Psychiatry
- Active and unrestricted medical license in the applicable state
- DEA license (or ability to obtain)
- Experience in behavioral health, addiction medicine, or dual diagnosis treatment preferred
- Prior leadership experience or demonstrated ability to lead and mentor clinical teams
- Strong understanding of regulatory and accreditation standards
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
